The Nigeria Police Force has arrested popular social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman.
Deji Adeyanju, his lawyer, confirmed the development in a post via X on Sunday.
Daily Trust reports that this the third time the critic will be arrested this year.
According to Adeyanju, the arrest is related to his recent exposé.

He said Verydarkman was arrested on the orders of Benneth Igweh, Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for allegedly defaming someone who had been accused of scamming a Nigerian abroad.
“Our client, #thatverydarkman has just been arrested by the police on the instruction of CP Igwe for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad.
“Instead of the police to arrest the person alleged to have duped someone, they arrested VDM on allegation of defamation,” he wrote.
In a terse statement on Sunday night, Josephine Adeh, the FCT police spokesperson, said the critic was only invited for questioning.
Adeh added that he had since been released after giving his statement.
The statement said: “Contrary to the news making the rounds about the alleged arrest of Martins Vincent Otse popularly known as Verydarkman or VDM by the police, the FCT police command wishes to clarify that Verydarkman was not arrested by the police but was only invited for questioning on the allegations of cyber stalking, cyber bullying and defamation of character.
“He has since been released after voluntarily giving his statement on the allegations.”
