The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested members of a notorious car snatching syndicate and recovered a stolen car from them.
The command’s spokesman, DSP Idrisu Kennedy, who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Lafia, said the command received reports of cars snatched at gun point from three persons in different parts of the state.
Kennedy said through intelligence the command arrested the criminals on September 23.
“Two members of the gang were arrested at Masaka in Karu LGA, one member of the members escaped but we are still after him. A Toyota Camry Bulldog car belonging to one Yusuf Manga snatched on September 21 in Akwanga LGA was recovered from the gunmen,” he said.
Kennedy gave the names of the suspects as Nasiru Danjuma and Collins Osaye of Angwan Zakara in Uke, Karu LGA, adding that the criminals would be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
He added that as soon as investigation is completed the suspects would be charged to court.
