A Katsina magistrate’s court has remanded one Muntari Abdu, 40, for allegedly stabbing to death, one Salisu Abubakar, 30, of the same village during a fight.

Abdu who was arrested and arraigned in court by police, is facing a one count charge of culpable homicide contrary to Section 225 of the penal code law. 

The Police First Information Report read at the court said the incident occurred on September, 26, but the police prosecutor, Inspector Sani Ado, pleaded for more time to enable further investigation on the case.

Magistrate Fadila Dikko said the matter was only brought in for cognisance as the court will await legal advice from the Ministry of Justice. She adjourned to November 20.
