Police charge woman with stealing ATM card

The police in Lagos on Monday charged a 35-year-old woman, Bisola Fashawe, with stealing ATM card.

The accused was brought before the Sabo Chief Magistrate’s Court, Yaba, Lagos.

Fashawe was alleged to have committed the offence with others still at large, on December 14, 2020 at a GTbank branch.

Police alleged that she conspired with others to commit felony, an offence punishable under section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.

The accused person was also alleged to have stolen a GTB ATM card belonging to Yekini Lateef with account number 0116245569 and used it to purchase different smart phones from Slot, valued at N1,999,000.00 from his account and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 288 and punishable under section 289-of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.

At the time of filing this report, it was not clear the relationship between the accused person and the complainant.

The accused person pleaded not guilty and the court admitted her to bail in the sum of N450, 000 and two sureties.

Trial has been fixed for May 10, 2021.
