The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has charged the 661 recruits who graduated from the police training school in Maiduguri to shun corrupt tendencies and respect human rights in discharging their duties.

Idris said this on Saturday during the passing out parade for the newly recruited personnel at police college parade ground in Maiduguri.

He added that the graduating personnel have undergone six months course on legal studies, arms handling in addition to conflict and peace management in the period of training.

Idris, who was represented by the Assistant Inspector General of police ( AIG ) zone 3 Yola,  Kayode Aderanti, said, “While we are recruiting another 10,000 in the ongoing batch B police recruitment after graduation of the current batch A, I urge all you graduands to maintain discipline, dedication to duty with professionalism and respect for human rights in the course of your duties.

“The Nigeria police will continue to produce competent personnel that are groomed in both science and modern art of policing. We will keep training personnel to understand and meet the challenges of modern society in addition to supporting government policies,” he said.
