Police clean up Edo communities to celebrate National Day

The Edo State Police Command has embarked on a sanitation exercise at Ibiwe and other selected communities in the state as part of activities marking its celebration of the National Police Day.

Speaking to journalists during the exercise at Ibiwe on Thursday, the state commissioner of police, Betty Otimenyin, said the sanitation was in line with the approval of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egberokun.

 Otimenyin listed other activities planned for the day to include, visits to schools, road walk and free medical outreach for residents.

According to him, the free medical treatment for residents include blood pressure check, blood sugar check, hepatitis B screening, HIV screening, and eye check, among others.

She called on residents of the state to encourage the police by joining in the celebration and all the activities lined up.
