Briefing reporters in Akure, Thursday, Nasarawa said the fight against crime could not be curtailed by police without necessary support from members of the public. He added that the command was ready to make such information received from members of the public a secret.
He said, “as policemen, we are ready to work hand in hand with members of the public. All we need from them is adequate information that can lead to the arrest of criminals.
“We are going to make sure that the information given to us is not going to be made public. We are ready to make such information a topmost secret.”
He commended the state government for its regular assistance to the command, saying that the state government had ordered for the purchase of 500 bullet proof vests, 50 hilux vans and 25 BMW motorcycles to assist the command figh crime in the state.
He appealed to well meaning Nigerians and corporate organisations to come to the aid of the command through adequate provision of security gadgets.
