The Lagos State police command yesterday disclosed it has ordered for a forensic analysis on human parts found with a couple believed to be mad who were arrested last week under a bridge at the Cele Nicer bus stop, Mile 2-Badagry expressway to ascertain how those said to be their victims died.

The command said it would also conduct a psychiatrist test on the couple to determine their state of mind at the time of their arrest.

The couple, identified as Folake Falade and Emmanuel Gbenga, were putting on acts of insanity when they were arrested.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, who shed light on the extent of investigation on the matter, said that the command had sent samples of the human parts recovered at the scene to the Lagos State DNA Laboratory to conduct forensic test on them.

Edgal said, “We want to first ascertain if the items recovered are human parts. If they are, we will also ascertain who the victims are. Similarly, a psychiatrist test will be conducted on the suspects. All the reports will be sent to the Department of Public Prosecution for legal advice. All these will enable us to be sure of the charges to be preferred against the suspects.”
