Police confirm 4 dead in Bama mosque blast

The police in Borno State yesterday confirmed that four people were killed while eight others sustained injuries as a result of a suicide bomb attack at a mosque in Bama Local Government Area. 

Police Spokesman DSP Edet Okon said in a statement he issued in Maiduguri that at 5.40am of yesterday, two female suicide bombers infiltrated into Ajilari area in Bama town and launched a suicide bomb attack on residents observing morning (Asuba) prayers. 

“They detonated the IEDs strapped to their bodies, killing themselves and two male victims,” he stated.

The spokesman quoted the state Commissioner of Police, CP Damian Chukwu, as assuring the citizens that the police command was committed to their safety at all times.
