Police confirms arrest of electoral offenders

Commission of Police in Lagos,Mr.Kayode Aderanti has confirmed the arrest of hoodlums in connection with irregularities over the governorship and states houses of assembly elections.

Aderanti, who said when he visited Lagos Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC, didn’t disclose the number of hoodlums involved in the act.

He said his men are currently investigating the hoodlums and would prosecute them in due cause.

Speaking, Lagos REC of INEC, Akin Orebiyi, disclosed that his commissioner recorded electoral malpractice in Surulere,Oshodi,Mushin,Ibeju Lekki and Ifako Ijaiye areas of the state.

He said the malpractice involved includes, molestation of INEC officials and snatching of ballot boxes.

He expressed disgust over the development, just as he ruled out the possibility of extending the elections till Sunday.
