The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has foiled a kidnapping attempt and arrested two suspects in Eket.
According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Timfon John, police operatives received a distress call on Saturday at about 9:15 pm about a kidnapping in progress along Factory Road, Afia Nsit.
The victim told police that as he was about to drive into his home, four men attempted to force their way into his vehicle. The commotion and prompt arrival of a joint police team caused the assailants to flee the scene.
A pursuit was initiated, leading to the arrest of two suspects, both of whom are residents of different local government areas within the state. (NAN)
