The police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have foiled the kidnapping of a clergyman, Pastor Ayuba Samuel, at Nuku community in Abaji Area Council.

The FCT Police Commissioner, Mr Sunday Babaji, disclosed this to newsmen at the command’s headquarters over the weekend.

He said a kidnapping gang leader, Malam Bala, and one Abdullahi Aruwa aka Juli were arrested during a covert operation in Atako Forest of a neigbouring village in Kuje Area Council, and that the suspects had revealed to the police team how they carried out kidnapping operations in the FCT.

CP Babaji further disclosed that another member of a kidnapping syndicate that has been on the command’s watch list, Awwal Abdullahi, was also arrested following a tip off by the police officers from Dawaki Division, adding that the suspect gave a lead which led to the arrest of one Isah Yusuf and three other members of the syndicate.
