But Police Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olusola Amore, said yesterday in Abuja that Tishau did not give any information on the attack to the police. He said Tishau who was arrested by the police earlier, was requested for questioning by a “sister security agency on June 27” and was released to the agency on July 7 “for investigation in the spirit of information and intelligence-sharing. He has not been returned to the police till date.”

Amore declined to name the agency that requested for the suspect. All security agencies appear to be in limbo on the circumstances in which Tishau, a key leader of the sect, escaped or was released from custody. He said the statements by Tishau linking to the Inspector-General in the interview were groundless. He said Ringim had in conjunction with authorities from the Customs, Immigration and State Security Services as well as security agencies from Niger Republic agreed on a common front on how to tackle trans-border crimes, particularly gun-running.
