The Edo State Police Command has begun investigation on four suspects allegedly arrested with guns in the state.
It was gathered that the suspects were arrested at Ramat, Ikpoba Hill area of Benin by the Edo State Security Corp with guns and cutlasses concealed in bags.
The command’s spokesman, CSP Moses Yamu, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspects, Yusuf Abdulkarim, Mujaheed Garba, Shittu Idris and Jamilu Habibu, were arrested at a hotel at Ramat Park, Orogbeni Quarters and handed over to the police.
He said the suspects were intercepted by a member of the Edo Security Network with three dane guns, six empty cartridges, three half-filled cartridges, four cutlasses and two daggers.

According to him, the police from the Ikpoba Hill station swiftly took over the suspects for investigation.
Yamu said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were hunters and not herdsmen, as reported in social media.
He added, “They were from Doguwa in Kano State heading to Uvbe community in Orhionwon Local Government Area of Edo State. Investigation is still ongoing.”
