Two suspected kidnappers were killed by the Police in Bauchi in a joint operation by the police and vigilantes.

Two female kidnapped victims were also rescued during the operation.

A statement by the Bauchi State Police Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed yesterday stated that following an intelligence report, a police patrol team attached to Ganjuwa Division in collaboration with Danga security stormed a kidnappers’ hideout at Buzun forest in Ganjuwa Local Government Area.

He said that the hoodlums opened fire on the police and the vigilantes, prompting a fierce gun battle which lasted more than an hour.

He said that the two suspected kidnappers and a member of Danga Security, Mustapha Sarkin Bindigan Gali of Gali, were fatally wounded during the gun battle and taken to the General Hospital Kafin Madaki where they were certified dead.
