Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have neutralized six suspected kidnappers during a gun battle in Delta State.

 The suspects, Solomon Danisco aka ‘Picolo’, Nelson Jacob, Oruma Saturday, Olise Jude, Precious Urhobowin, Whisky Rufus – a gang of kidnapping syndicate – were killed along Patani-Ughelli expressway during a cross fire with the police.

 The command’s spokesperson,  Bright Edafe, said  on July 9, along the Patani-Ughelli Expressway, near the Unenurhei axis, the police in a sting operation raided the hideout of the deceased suspects so as to arrest the gang.

 He said on sighting the police, the suspects who were heavily armed, engaged the operatives in a gun duel and in the process sustained serious gunshot injuries.

 According to him, the suspects were taken to the hospital, where six of them were confirmed dead while two other members of the gang are still receiving treatment.

 He listed the items recovered from them to  include four locally-made guns and 19 rounds of live cartridges.
