Police Machine battle Musty FC in Emir of Ilorin’s Cup finals

The city of Ilorin will come alive once again when Police Machine and Musty FC battle for honours in the finals of the Emir of Ilorin Football competition on Saturday.

There will be a third place playoff between Okaa Sports FC and Adezzy FC on the same day at the Ilorin Township Stadium.

The competition, popularly called Emirs’ Cup, is organised by Ilorin Emirate Football Council to celebrate the 28 years coronation anniversary of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari.

The competition which commenced last month across various centers featured teams from the educational, security and major establishments situated within the Emirate.

Unilorin Warriors had kicked off the tournament by defeating Kwara Poly by a lone goal.

Briefing sports writers ahead of the grand finale, the chairman of the main Organizing Committee, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Owolabi Agbaji Wopa expressed the readiness of the MOC to stage a hitch free grand finals.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is expected to grace the occasion as the special guest of honour, Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq, who is the Mutawali of Ilorin and Senator Saliu Mustapha will both chair the event while Ambassador Nimota Akanbi and Sa’adat Belgore are the Chairpersons.

Expected Royal fathers are Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar III, Emir of Gwanadu, Emir of Kano, Emir of Bauchi, Emir of Bichi, Oni of Ife, Ataoja Osogbo among others.
