Police machine football club has emerged winner of the Abaji Chairman’s cup Football tournament at the final football match competition held at the Junior Secondary School (JSS) Kekeshi football pitch.

The police machine football club defeated Kings Football club 1-0 during the second half of the 90 minutes play to win the trophy.

Speaking at the end of the competition, chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, said he was overwhelmed with the performance of all the football clubs that participated in this year’s edition of the chairman’s cup.

He said his administration desire to organise the football competition was to keep the youth busy, adding that the competition will also foster peace and unity among the youth in the area.

He noted that sporting activities was very important in any given society, adding that sporting activities also help in keeping the body fit and healthy.

Daily Trust reports that Police machine football club smiled home with a sum of N200,000 cash while the runner up (Kings Football club) got N150, 000 and 3rd posting got N100,000.
