Men of the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (FSARS) of the Imo State Police Command have arrested two men for their alleged involvement in the kidnap of a 17-month-old baby boy.
The command’s deputy spokesman, ASP Ify Ezeudeogu, said the child was kidnapped by a four-man gang on Saturday.
Ezeudeogu, who handed the rescued child over to his mother, said the hoodlums invaded the victim’s apartment around 2am, robbed them and also kidnapped the child.
She said the suspects seized the ATM cards belonging to the boy’s mother.
She added that N627,000 was said to have been paid as ransom to the suspects to release the child to the family but that they failed to release the baby after collecting the money.
