Police nab 2 with 342 wraps of cannabis in Kogi

The Kogi State Police Command has arrested two suspected illicit drug dealers after operatives intercepted a Honda Pilot vehicle conveying 342 wraps of suspected Indian hemp in Kabba area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Lokoja.

According to the statement, operatives attached to a tactical team intercepted the vehicle during a routine operation on May 9, 2026.

“The preliminary assessment revealed that the vehicle was carrying 342 wraps of the suspected substance,” the statement said.

The police added that the suspects, along with the vehicle and exhibits, were transferred to the Area Command Headquarters in Kabba for further investigation.

The command further disclosed that an attempt was allegedly made to bribe the operatives with N5 million to compromise the operation, but the officers rejected the offer.

Commissioner of Police, Naziru Bello Kankarofi, commended the operatives for their professionalism and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to combating criminal activities across the state.
