Three armed robbery and kidnapping suspects have been apprehended by police in Katsina over the kidnap of an eight-year old-girl in the state.

They suspects are, Isa Sani, 25; Abdullahi Salisu, 30 and Babangida Bello, 22, all of Danmusa and Matazu LGAs of the state.

The state command spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, said one AK47 rifle with breach no. TK6184 was also recovered from them.

According to him, on Jan 1, 2018, the command, based on a tip off, succeeded in busting a notorious syndicate of armed robbery/kidnapping suspects.

They were alleged to have kidnapped the girl from Dadanya village, Danmusa LGA of the state.

“The suspects have confessed to the crime and are making useful statements assisting the police in their investigation,” he said.

He added that the command also busted another armed robbery and kidnapping for ransom syndicate at Danmusa LGA on January 16.

A “police patrol team while on routine patrol had an encounter with the hoodlums and arrested one Dikko Adamu, 22, of Katsira village and Umar Abubakar, 21, of Makuka village, Danmusa LGA of the state.  

He said one AK47 rifle with Breach No. PN 2119 and two rounds of live ammunition were recovered in their possession. 

“Investigation is in progress with a view to arresting other members of their syndicate,” he added.
