Eight suspected members of a secret cult group, who the police said had been terrorising residents of Addo village and Osho Langbasa areas in Eti Osa local government, Lagos State, have been arrested.

The suspects are Mutiu Adewale, 32; Toheeb Salami, 25; Famoroti Oladele, 24; Segun Adeboye, 18; Ogundeyi Ifeoluwa, 24; Adebayo Olawale, 24; Odunuga Akinola, 24; and 18-year-old Quadri Bola.

The police alleged that the suspects, arrested at Addo village and Osho Langbasa, conspired to commit felony by unlawfully parading themselves as members of a cultist group and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 42 (a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

It was further alleged that all the suspects unlawfully assembled to cause a breach of the peace.

When the charges were read out to them, the suspects pleaded not guilty to each of the two- count criminal charge.

Magistrate Bakare, while adjourning the case till June 15, 2019, admitted each of the suspects to N150,000 bail, with two sureties.
