Police nab robbers at ATM point in Ogun

The Ogun Police Command, yesterday, confirmed the arrest of two robbery suspects who allegedly specialized in robbing people withdrawing money at Automated Teller Machine (ATM) points in the state.

The suspects –  Ebenezer Olubukola, 30 and Olajide Oladejo, 29 – were around up at First Bank in Ota, Ado Odo/Ota LGA.

It was learnt that the Area Commander in Ota, ACP Monday Agbonika, who led his men on routine patrol with the men of operation PUFF ADDER sighted three suspects on a Bajaj motorcycle reportedly lurking around the bank.

The area commander having suspected their movement was said to have ordered his men to intercept and search them.

The suspects who observed the operatives approaching them reportedly jumped off the motorcycle and took to their heels.

The police spokesman in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement said the policemen chased the fleeing suspects and arrested two of them.

He said items recovered from them were one locally made pistol with five live cartridges and a Bajaj motorcycle.

Oyeyemi said the Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for investigation.

He added that the CP equally ordered a manhunt for the fleeing member of the gang.
