Detectives from the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 26-year-old suspected leader of a notorious cult gang that had been terrorising residents of Agege, Fagba and Oju areas of Lagos.
Our correspondent learnt that the suspect, identified as Ibrahim Toheeb alias Baale, has been on the police wanted list for some time.
He was said to have been arrested on Friday by detectives who were on stop-and-search at Fagba junction in the Iju area of Lagos.
Police said the suspect was responsible for several brutal killings in the area during a cult related clash.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said other members of the gang escaped.
He said the suspect had been on the police wanted list for cult related killings in the area.
“Some exhibits were recovered from him while efforts are on to arrest other members of the gang who escaped,” he said.
Similarly, policemen from Ketu Division have arrested a robbery suspect and recovered arms.
The suspect, Shaibu Usani, 27, was arrested during a stop-and- search at ‘Y junction along Lagos-Ibadan expressway, Ketu.
“A locally made revolver, four expended cartridges and substances suspected to be hard drugs were recovered from the suspect,” the state PPRO said.
