The FCT police command has arrested the alleged killer of an Abuja-based pharmacist, late Mr. Sunday Chukwujekwu, in Gwarimpa.
In a statement, spokesman of the command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, said the arrest of the suspect was sequel to the ongoing investigation into the murder of the owner of Suncel Pharmacy, Gwarimpa, who was also the publicity secretary of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN).
He said the command arrested the principal suspect, Tukur Awwal, who allegedly killed the deceased in his shop on June 19, 2020.
He said the principal suspect, who gave details of how he shot the deceased during the robbery operation, was arrested by operatives of the command’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) at his hideout in Suleja, Niger State on Friday, August 7, 2020.
“He has also confessed to his involvement in some armed robbery operations around Gwarimpa and Gudu axis,” he said.
According to him, a locally made pistol, suspected to have been used to commit the crime and one live ammunition, were recovered from the suspect as exhibits.
