The police in Gwarinpa on Saturday arrested a five-man ‘one chance’ gang at Katampe Extension.
A police source said the suspects were arrested after police officers foiled an attempted robbery at a resident at about 9pm.
The source said one Ibrahim that resides in Niger State had boarded a Suleja bound Volkswagen Golf car from Mpape junction and that the suspects attempted dispossessing him of his belongings at Katampe Extension.
“The suspects started searching him but he resisted and raised alarm,” the source said.
The source said the struggle attracted some police officers patrolling the area.
The Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, said the suspects are in police custody and investigation is ongoing.
“They brought the five suspects and the vehicle to the station at about 9pm on Saturday. Nothing incriminating was recovered from them,” he added.
