The FCT Police Command has held a free medical outreach for vulnerable residents in Abuja.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, disclosed this while speaking to journalists shortly after flagging off the exercise at Garki Area 1 on Monday.
He said the initiative forms part of activities marking the 2026 National Police Day.
Sanusi explained that the outreach targets vulnerable individuals suffering from various ailments who cannot afford medical treatment.
He noted that the initiative underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to community engagement, public health and environmental sustainability, while strengthening the bond between the police and the citizens.
The commissioner also led officers of the command in a sanitation exercise within the Area 1 Shopping Complex, urging residents and shop owners to maintain clean surroundings.
He reaffirmed the command’s dedication to service, partnership and people-centred policing as activities for the National Police Day celebration continue.
Some beneficiaries commended the command for the initiative, describing it as timely support for indigent patients in the territory.
