Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) Kano state chapter has donated foodstuffs and other household items worth thousands of naira to orphanages and paitents in the state.
Some of the households donated to the beneficieries include soft drinks, clothing materials, laundry soaps and sweets.
Speaking during the presentation of the items to the beneficiaries, the Chairperson of POWA and wife of the Commissioner of Police Kano State Hajiya Salma Rabiu Yusuf, said that it was important for community members to assist the less privileged with basic necessities they required to survive.
She said it was a duty for all to ensure that the less privileged in the society received the needed attention and care as humans adding such gesture ought to be a responsibility of all.
The association donated to Nassarawa orphanage home, Tudun Maliki Tory home and Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital respectively.
