The police in Gombe have paraded 12 suspects over alleged armed robbery, cheating, forgery and cattle rustling.

Parading the suspects before newsmen, the state Commissioner of Police, Shina Tairu Olukolu, said the suspects were arrested by the police in collaboration with the Hunters’ Association members at the border between Balanga and Lamurde LGAs of Gombe and Adamawa states.

He said following credible information from members of the public, Saidu Adamu, 35, alias Dujja; Ibrahim Mohammed, 25, alias Yellow; Mobi Ori, 20; Kanno Dari, 30; Hamza Isah, 33; and Musa Ahmadu all of Adamawa State were arrested by the police between November 14 and 15.

Olukolu said the group, which specialised in blocking the road around the border area, were arrested while preparing to carry out a robbery operation. He added that AK47 rifle, three magazines, 70 rounds of ammunition, a pistol, six GSM phones, charms and knives among others were recovered from the suspects.
