The police in Ekiti State have paraded two suspects, Anthony Oluwatosin Adedokun (40) and Ayoola Taiwo Ayodele (44) for rape and blackmail.

Police spokesman in the state, ASP Sunday Abutu, said they were arrested after one of their victims reported to the police.

According to the spokesman, the command received a complaint on January 18, from a 20 year-old lady that Anthony Oluwatosin Adedokun and Ayoola Taiwo Ayodele forcefully had carnal knowledge of her in their apartment.

Police investigation revealed that Adedokun met the victim on the internet and a relationship started in 2021.

ASP Abutu said, “In the process, the victim solicited financial help of N10,000 which he obliged but insisted the victim must come to his house to collect the cash.

“The victim visited Adedokun on January 17, and he took her to the house of Ayodele where he had carnal knowledge of her against her wish, and Ayodele videotaped them and threatened to blackmail the victim if she refused to have sex with him also.

“Ayodele also forcefully had intercourse with her in the same room.”

Abutu noted that during interrogation the suspects confessed to the crime and other similar crimes.
