Police parade suspected murderers of 104-yr old man in Ebonyi

Ebonyi State Police command paraded two suspected murderers of a 104-year-old man named Joseph Olughu Nkama at Oso Edda, in Afikpo South local government of Ebonyi state while three others were escaped.

The command also rescued Chinyere a female and her brother, little Ibiam Igwe who were kidnapped when the hoodlums on 15th June, 2018 invaded the residence of James, son of late Pa Nkama.

Also paraded was one Mr. Chukwu Christian age 38 who was nabbed for unlawfully possession of locally made fire arm.

He was paraded with one locally made pistol and 10 live cartridges as exhibits.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ebonyi state command, ASP Loveth Odah who paraded the suspect, warned criminals to stay clear of Ebonyi state or be ready to face the long arm of the law.

ASP Odah who also assured the public of the safety, solicited cooperation of communities leaders and residents in giving timely information that will aid the command in combating crimes in the state.

Odah said, "The kidnappers gained entrance into the house of James Nkama and kidnapped one Chineyere Igwe ‘F’ age 8yr and little Ibiam Igwe ‘M’ to unknown destination.

They also robbed the deceased of N70,000.

"The kidnappers demanded five million naira as ransom from the victims’ family, while negotiations was still on, 01 July, 2018 investigation took operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping squad (AK) to a community in Afikpo North L.G.A of the state where the first suspect Otuu Emmanuel ‘M’ age 21years , was arrested.

However, On 02 day of July 2018,a combined team of both Special Anti-Robbery squad  (SARS) and Anti-Kidnapping Squad (AK) stormed ,the "Kidnaper’s den", a thick forest alone Amangwu road Afikpo South to locate the victims and other members of their gang.

 

One of the suspect by name Emmanuel  Otuu who confessed to the crime told newsmen that he got involved because he was in need of N200,000 naira which he needed to settle his mother’s  surgery bill in the hospital.
