The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 150 suspects during a coordinated raid on several criminal hideouts in the Igando-Idimu area as part of its ongoing crackdown on crime across the state.
The operation, carried out under the Command’s Operation KO S’AYE, was conducted in the early hours of Sunday, following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected hoodlums operating within the Area M axis.
Police spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said operatives from various formations raided criminal hideouts at Boolar, Okofilling Bus Stop, Igando, and other identified black spots to flush out criminal elements and restore public safety.
During the operation, the police recovered one double-barrel gun, two single-barrel guns, one locally made double-barrel short gun, 100 unregistered motorcycles, 54 mobile phones, two military camouflage uniforms, six generators suspected to have been stolen, assorted charms, substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs.
She said all the 150 suspects are in custody, while investigations continue to determine their individual involvement in criminal activities.
According to her, those found culpable will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their professionalism and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining Operation KO S’AYE to dismantle criminal networks and deny offenders safe haven across Lagos.
He also appealed to residents to continue supporting the police with timely and credible information to aid the fight against crime and enhance security throughout the state.
