Suspects held over laptop theft
The Police in Gombe State yesterday said they have arrested two suspected burglars and recovered six computer laptops alleged to have be stolen from a supermarket.
The spokesperson of the police in the state, SP Obed Mary Malum said the suspects, Oshalaye Segun Victor, 32, of Jekadafari quarters and Mohammed Bello Hassan, 34, of Tudun Wada quarters all of Gombe metropolis were arrested by police operatives at Pantami Divisional office.
In a statement issued to newsmen, she said the duo were arrested on February 17 in connection to a case of theft and receiving stolen properties after they allegedly broke into a plaza along Bauchi road.
SP Malum said the suspects had on January 21 allegedly broke into one of the shops at the said plaza and carted away three desktop computers, four different brands of computer laptops and 10 flash drives all valued at N700, 000.
The police spokesperson added that in the course of investigation six other laptops were recovered from the suspects who she said have confessed to the crime.
