The Police Command in Enugu State has recovered a MAN Diesel truck that was stolen from where it was parked in Benin City, Edo State, on Monday.
This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe, on Monday in Enugu.
Ndukwe said that police operatives attached to the Ozalla Division and the Distress Response Squad (DRS), at about 6:30 am on October 27, recovered the stolen truck.
“The recovery, made at Ozalla in Nkanu West LGA along the Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway, followed operatives’ swift response to distress information from the command’s control room that the stolen vehicle was heading towards the expressway. (NAN)
“On sighting the operatives, the hoodlums abandoned the truck and fled into the bush.
“However, the operatives are on the trail of the fleeing interstate criminal suspects, while the recovered vehicle has been secured for further investigation,” he said.
The spokesman said that the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mamman Giwa, commended the operatives for their swift and coordinated response, while reaffirming the command’s commitment to proactive policing. (NAN)
