The Kaduna State Police Command has recovered a Toyota Hilux used by the kidnappers of a youth leader, Bashir Ahmad.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mukhtar Aliyu said the vehicle was abandoned at Gonin Gora in Sabon Tasha area of the state having sighted a stop and search mounted by the police.

He said the police immediately mounted stop and search at all exits out of the state after they received the kidnap report adding that the kidnappers abandoned the vehicle when they saw police personnel searching vehicles on the road.

Mukhtar added, "We have also recovered the victims vehicle and both cars are presently in police custody. We are not leaving any stone unturned until we trace the whereabouts of the victim."

Bashir was abducted in the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna metropolis on Friday.

A witness said masked gunmen whisked away the youth leader.

The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, had posted on his Facebook wall that, “I received the news of the abduction of one of my youth leaders and brother in the person of Mallam Bashir Ahmad by masked Gunmen in Tudun Wada area of Kaduna South.”
