The FCT police command has said it has rescued four persons that were abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the early hours of yesterday, at Ketti village near Pyakasa, an Abuja suburb.
Four persons, Felix Ezu, Joseph Uzo, Suleiman Abdullazeez and Moses Shewkolo, were said to have been abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.
A statement by the FCT police command spokesperson, ASP Mariam Yusuf, said four people kidnapped in the early hours of yesterday at Ketti community, near Pyakasa of AMAC by gunmen, were rescued following prompt response to a distress call at about 22: 45 hours at the outskirts of Kabusa.
She said the police operatives at Kabusa Division rescued the two victims after engaging the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle, which she said forced the gunmen to flee into the forest with two other victims.
She added that the command has launched a manhunt to apprehend the fleeing kidnappers, even as she said the command was making efforts to rescue the remaining victims.
She reiterated the command’s dedication to the protection of lives and property in the FCT during the yelutide period and beyond.
