Osun State Police Command has rescued the Ekiti State Administrative Secretary of Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Mr Muslim Omoleke who was kidnapped in Osun State on Thursday evening.
Omoleke was kidnapped by unknown gunmen along Ipetu-Ijesa road via Akure-Ilesha Expressway on his way from Ado-Ekiti and the matter was reported to the police immediately.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Fimihan Adeoye told Daily Trust that the INEC official has been rescued from his abductors and that he has been reunited with his family.
The CP who spoke through the state Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), SP Folasade Odoro, confirmed that Omoleke is in good condition.
The police commissioner who led the rescue operation yesterday assured that his men would intensify efforts to apprehend the kidnappers and bring them to justice.
