Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have rescued a kidnapped victim identified as Rev. Canon Tony Mukoro in the state.
The victim was reportedly kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the Isor community while returning home in his car.
The spokesperson for the command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident.
He said the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ugbowo Division, Benin City, Edo State received information that hoodlums accosted and kidnapped one Rev Cannon Tony Mukoro in his Toyota Highlander with registration number BEN 822 SR while entering his house at the Isor community.

He said the police operatives immediately swung into action and intercepted the vehicle, engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel, adding that the hoodlums fled during the crossfire and the victim was rescued unhurt
