The police in Katsina said they have recovered one AK 47 rifle with its 16 rounds of live ammunition, two AK 47 rifle magazines, four rustled cows and a motorcycle after a gun duel with rustlers along Sakwattawa-Shawere cattle route that left one dead. 

A statement by the command’s spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, said on October 23, 2017, one Ibrahim Gai of Aidun Hassan village, Danmusa LGA of Katsina State, reported that cattle rustlers invaded their settlement and stole their cows.  

“A team of Operation Sharan-Daji where immediately dispatched to one of the cattle routes, where on sighting them the hoodlums engaged the team in a gun duel during which one of the cattle rustlers was gunned down, while the rest took to their heels abandoning the above mentioned items,” he said.  

Gambo said investigation is in top gear with a view to arresting the rest of the fleeing hoodlums and to recover more of their operational arms.
