As the 2019 electoral campaigns commenced nationwide, Police in Kano have urged politicians to abide by the rules of fair politicking so as not to derail the existing peace and stability in the state.
The state police Commissioner, Rabi’u Yusuf made the call at a stakeholders meeting with executives of political parties.
Yusuf warned against use of thugs and hateful conducts against political opponents, stressing that the command would not take it lightly with any politician found indulging into any act capable of inciting violence during the electioneering period.
“Use of political thugs, bearing of weapons, hate speech, tainting of campaign posters/ banners of opponents are evils which the command will not tolerate.”
