Detectives from Ilasamaja Police Division of the Lagos Command have uncovered an uncompleted building which suspected armed robbers used as their armoury.
The house, police said, was located along Mushalashi Street, Ilasa.
It was learnt that two brand new Berreta pistol and several rounds of ammunition were recovered from the hideout. The guns and ammunitions were said to have been concealed in a brown bag.
It was further learnt that though nobody was arrested, detectives were keeping a close watch on the house where the guns were found.
Lagos State police spokesman, Chike Oti, said the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ilasamaja Division, CSP Oroyomi Oluwasanmi, got privileged information that some armed robbery suspects were keeping their guns in an uncompleted building preparatory for an attack.
“Two brand new pistols and about 15 rounds of ammunition were recovered. All the arms recovered have been handed over to the Area Commander Area D, Mushin,” he added.
