Police woman still missing after Imo attack

A police woman is still missing three days after hoodlums attacked the divisional police headquarters Umuelemai in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, a Daily Trust investigation has revealed.

Our correspondent, who visited the police headquarters on Tuesday, was told by some of her colleagues that the police woman, identified as Constable Esther Njoku, was abducted by the hoodlums during the attack and is yet to be released since then.

Njoku is said to be a native of Amaukwu Obollo in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area.

An inspector of police was killed in the attack, which occurred on Saturday.

Njoku was said to have been abducted alongside the President General of the Luwe Nneire autonomous community, in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area, Chima Awurum.

As at the time of writing this report, the abductors were yet to make contact with families of their hostages.

Our correspondent gathered that Awurum, a lawyer, was kidnapped in his office by the gunmen who attacked the Isiala Mbano divisional police headquarters.
