Polio: Kaduna conducts immunisation in ten high risk LGs

A statement jointly issued by the State Primary Health Care Agency (SPHCA) and Journalists Against Polio (JAP) and signed by Alhaji Hamza Ibrahim Ikara and Lawal A. Dogara respectively, named the high risk areas as Lere, Kubau, Ikara, Makarfi, Kudan, Giwa, Zaria, Sabon Gari, Igabi and Soba.
The statement appealed to parents in these areas to co-operate by allowing their children from 0-5years to be immunised. Traditional rulers and religious leaders were also urged to assist by educating their followers on the importance of the polio immunisation with a view to achieving the desired result.
While the group commended development partners and the state government for their efforts towards the eradication of polio in the state and the country at large, urged them not to relent their effort until polio becomes a thing of the past in the country.
