The statement noted that Rotary International through its Polio Ambassador to Nigeria, Emeka Offor, provided for the supply of 15,000 Speaking Books titled ‘Yes to Health, No to Polio’ to mark the day.
“This innovative educational tool endorsed by Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI), representing the Muslim community in Nigeria, is to inform local and vulnerable communities in Nigeria about the importance of vaccination, maintaining a clean environment, and hand washing in order to help eradicate polio.
The Speaking Book contains 16 pages of easy to understand text, illustrations and a sound track recorded in Hausa and English and will be used by UNICEF for their Volunteer Community Mobilisers (VCMs),” the statement reads.
