The signing was done under the supervision of the state police commissioner, Mohammed K Mohammed and the Area Commanders of Katagum and Bauchi Zones; Baffa Magaji Jahun and Olukayode Samuel.
The state police commissioner explained that the signing of the peace accord is to avoid politically motivated violence before, during and after the forthcoming general election.
Mohammed said political and electoral violence has caused a lot of damage in the past with lives and property lost and assured that the police will do everything possible to ensure hitch free election.
The Area Commanders of Katagum and Bauchi zones in their remarks, said the cardinal point of duty as security agents is ensure the security of lives and property and called upon the leaders of political parties as well as candidates vying for political seats to abide by the accord.
Magaji said security agents, will be neutral and proactive during the election to forestall any breakdown of law and order in the state.
