If there is anything fundamentally wrong with the way we do things as a nation, it is the way our politicians conduct themselves. They think their profession is synonymous with deceit, lies, intrigue and the darkest things a human hear can offer, and they may be right. But they are also expected to lead people to prosperity and safety and many more. One of the things that can go a long way is the removal of selfishness from their doings. If done, then maybe there will be a measure of hope.

President Buhari: A hero of our time

I feel blessed and lucky to have a man like Muhammadu Buhari as my president. While I was in the past misled into believing all kinds of lies against the man, I’m happy that today I stand here, a Nigerian who has seen the light. It’s all so simple: Buhari wants nothing but the best for our country. We need to support him, trust him, and be patient with him. The best soups, says my grandma, takes time to prepare. God bless you, my president, and grant you the will to lead us out of this present darkness.

Melaye shouldn’t be allowed to go free

Nigeria is indeed a funny country. Where else can a Senator do to a colleague, a female one at that, what Dino Melaye did and is still trying to spin it? What’s done is done, and he should face the consequences like a man, and not the coward he is turning out to be. Or does he think we’re stupid, oblivious of the fact that he’s cheaply sponsoring so-called women’s groups against Senator Tiniubu? He should be a man and apologise, thus beginning on a path to true reconciliation.

Long wait for Nigeria’s most-anticipated ‘home video’

The United States ambassador should please hurry up and show us the hard evidence he has said he has against our lawmakers accused of ‘sexual misconduct’ in America. I’m sure many will agree with me that it is the most-anticipated video clip in the history of our nation. In any case, all it will do is confirm what many of us already know: That we have all manner of characters populating the most important positions in this country. All I can do, like the typical Nigerian, is wring my hands and pray to God to make the situation better.
