A political activist in Imo State, Dr. Jude Ohanele, stated this at the State-Level Citizens’ Enlightenment Meeting held in Owerri yesterday.
He said the method known as “formula 4” would aid the electorate to “make political statement by not voting for anybody who lacks the capability to give effective representation.”
Ohanele said that the group known as ‘Development Dynamite’ is already working with the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Imo State to help them in determining the number of voters who do not have candidates.
He said the figure would enable them to make advocacy for independent candidates so that people without credibility are not allowed to run. He appealed to the electorate not to stay at home with their PVCs but go and vote for four political parties to show that they never believe in any politician.
He said: “the citizens have legitimate right over their voters cards because it is backed by law for any voter to apply formula 4 systems during election.”
