The Leadtech School of Management and Technology, Abuja, has received the African Trailblazer Excellent Merit Award from Unveiling African Parliament Writers in collaboration with the ECOWAS Commission.
According to the organisers, the award recognises the institution’s contributions to skills-based and technology-focused education, entrepreneurship development and institutional growth.
Leadtech School of Management and Technology is a tertiary institution accredited to offer National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.
Speaking on the award, the Rector, Dr. Musbau Abdulazeez, attributed the recognition to the institution’s focus on practical education, technological innovation and entrepreneurship development.
According to him, Leadtech was nominated and selected for the award because of its efforts in promoting skills acquisition, technology-driven learning and entrepreneurship among students.
He said the institution’s achievements include the matriculation of its first set of students following accreditation and the continued expansion of its academic programmes and physical infrastructure.
The Rector dedicated the award to the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, and the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Prof. Idris Muhammad Bugaje, citing their support for educational development in Nigeria.
Dr. Abdulazeez said that since commencing academic activities on September 25, 2024, the institution has expanded its academic resources and facilities, including increasing its library holdings and learning materials.
He added that the institution’s vision is to produce innovators, entrepreneurs and problem-solvers who can contribute to national, regional and global development.
According to the institution, the award serves as recognition of its efforts in technology-focused and entrepreneurship-oriented education.
