The Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) Dr. Mas’ud Adamu Kazaure, has said curriculum for polytechnics should be made to meet emerging needs.
He made the comment in llorin recently when he led a team to Kwara State Polytechnic, llorin. He said curriculum development must meet the emerging demands of 21st Century.
He described the situation where Nigeria is still engaging foreigners for the construction of rail lines as derogatory.
“The situation does not speak well of a country with over 500 technology centers. I am calling on the polytechnics in Nigeria to be alive to their mandate by allowing technological development be your priority.
“The future of this country is upon us, so, produce graduates that are relevant to the society,” he said.
He also urged the entrepreneurial centre of the Kwara Polytechnic to produce and sell incubators to boost the internal generated revenue of the institution.
