A vocational education conference has ended in Abuja with authorities saying poor perception of technical education leads to underdevelopment.  

The conference was organized by the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) and the National Association of Technical and Vocational School Proprietors of Nigeria (NATESVOSPON).

NABTEB Registrar Prof. Ifeoma M. Isiugo-Abanihe said poor perception of technical and vocational education and training are the major reasons why some African countries could not turn around their economies.

She described the negative view on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a major setback in Africa.
